Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts

This is the biggest no-brainer. Jalen Hurts is the wild card for this franchise moving forward. If he can become the franchise guy, the Eagles can jumpstart the process of building around him. Heading into the next offseason the Eagles will have ample cap space and draft capital to work with.

If Hurts proves he isn’t the guy, the Eagles will know they have to use that cap space and those draft picks to find the next franchise guy, either through the draft, free agency, or a trade. If the Eagles find themselves in that situation, the “transition” will take much longer.

Howie and the front office have done a good job setting this team up around Hurts so that he will have a fair opportunity to prove he can take the job and run with it. From drafting Devonta Smith to keeping Zach Ertz on the roster (for now), there should be no excuses of a lack of talent around him. This is a make-or-break year for Jalen Hurts.
