Philadelphia Eagles: 3 Sub-radar stars from their first preseason game
Alex Singleton can be the new leader of the Philadelphia Eagles defense.
Why were we so worried about the linebacker position again? That’s a joke. We all saw the 2020 fiasco that was the Philadelphia Eagles linebackers corps, and while the addition of former Minnesota Vikings standout Eric Wilson was front-page news (as it should be). It’s actually veteran Alex Singleton that has been (and continues to be) the Eagle’s bright spot in the center of the defense.
Watching the six-foot-two 240-pound rising star fly around in the first preseason game had us all in awe. Singleton seems to get better with every snap. That’s exactly what you want to hear if you’re an Eagles fan.
It may have taken a while, but it looks like Alex Singleton has found his feet and is on his way to being a giant headache for opposing offenses. The sideline to sideline beast seemed to be in the right place at the right time on just about every snap.
Again, the linebacker corps may have been a true concern for Eagles fans, but it looks like the Birds could have a star in the making.
