Philadelphia Eagles: Young UTR Birds poised for breakout seasons
Marcus Epps could be important to the Philadelphia Eagles defense
Some Philadelphia Eagles don’t even know the name Marcus Epps. Since being brought over to Philly, the former Minnesota Viking has been a constant on the back end of the defense.
While he may not blow anyone away, Epps has consistently gotten better in his backup safety role. More importantly, he could be playing a much larger role to start the season with veteran defensive back and team leader Rodney Mcleod currently sidelined.
Studying the game film on Epps, you can see the potential for him to be a big difference-maker for the Birds secondary.
This Thursday will be another great opportunity for us to watch Marcus Epps develop. Despite lacking the big play ability most NFL fans clamor for, Epps is a consistent defensive back, with a solid athletic makeup and the propensity to always be in the right place at the right time. He may not blow you away on tape, but he won’t give up the big mistakes that hurt teams.
The final preseason game could be another step forward for the young defensive back.
