K.J. Wright could start for the Philadelphia Eagles defense immediately.

The fact that veteran linebacker K.J. Wright is still on the street is perplexing. The ten-year star has been the ultimate football player, teammate, and defender since being drafted in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Here we are though. Wright, despite being one of the best linebackers in the National Football League, is still sitting on his sofa. We suspect it won’t be for too much longer as a player with his tools and skillset should be able to find himself a new home (if the Seattle Seahawks don’t bring him back. Still, there’s no denying the fact that Howie Roseman would put this team in prime position if he looked into landing the veteran.

Heading into the season, one of the main issues hampering the Philadelphia Eagles and their defense, was their issues at linebacker. Things look better now for the Birds, but they could always use a leader like the six-foot-four former Mississippi State product (where he was once a teammate with Darius Slay and Fletcher Cox).

Adding a player with Wright’s athletic makeup and football intelligence could help push the Eagles defense over the top, into dominance. Wright would be an immediate upgrade to the Birds roster, and at this point. It shouldn’t cost them an arm and a leg.
