Philadelphia Eagles: Final grades for every practice squad member
By Ryan Loftus
The Philadelphia Eagles defensive scout team grades
DE Matt Leo
Leo was on the team’s practice squad all of last year, as he is part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program, which brings players over from other countries and gives them a chance in the NFL. Leo was born in Australia and has upside, but at 29 years old, is not likely to ever serve a starting role. However, having depth at DE, a position that the Eagles love to stock up on, is always a good thing. Grade: C
DT Raequan Williams
Williams signed to the Eagles last year as a UDFA. Since, he has been in for limited snaps, even getting a sack against Washington in Week 17. Williams will, like Leo, serve as depth for the Eagles in the defensive line rotation, but Williams is only 24, with the potential to develop into a potential bonafide backup. Grade: B-
DT Marvin Wilson
Wilson signed with the Browns as a UDFA after the draft this year, and after getting waived, was picked up by the Eagles for the practice squad. Wilson attended Florida State, where he had 109 tackles and 9.5 sacks across his four-year college career. If done right, Wilson could become a difference-maker for the Eagles, but for now, develops on the practice squad. Grade: A
LB JaCoby Stevens
A sixth-round selection by the Eagles this year, Stevens was expected to play a role on the team, both as a linebacker and a DB. However, the Eagles determined there were other players they’d rather keep on the team, and Stevens getting demoted was likely just a numbers game. Grade: B
