Damarri Mathis could be a great addition to the Philadelphia Eagles defense.

Pittsburgh defensive back Damarri Mathis could have easily been drafted in 2021, despite missing the 2020 season. Considered one of the country’s best college football players, the Panther product has all the tools to be a star in the National Football league.

When studying his film, it is easy to see why any team would be excited to land the cornerback. Mathis has good size at just a shade under six-foot-tall and 200 pounds. He has the athletic makeup defensive coaches search for in the big leagues and the football intelligence that makes him a nightmare for opposing offenses.

The Philadelphia Eagles drafted a corner in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, but they would be wise to continue to add talent to the position. The truth is you can never have too many good cornerbacks on your team.

Adding a talent like Damarri Mathis would give the Eagles defense a young prospect that has the skillset to be a leader on the back end of their defense. He’s capable of playing both the slot and on an island. This is someone that could be a great investment for any team in this year’s draft. Is Philly watching?
