Philadelphia Eagles first interception leads to chaos, discombobulation
At this point, you have to ask yourself questions about this Philadelphia Eagles team like the following: This is going to be a long season, isn’t it? Why is this team so frustrating? Why is it that these guys look like they’re playing together for the first time every time we see them play together?
The Philadelphia Eagles are locked in a battle with the Kansas City Chiefs, and the game has been a microcosm of the entire season. We get good news, and bad news is almost certain to follow.
The Philadelphia Eagles snag their first interception but…
Ladies and gentlemen, four weeks into the NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles have snagged an interception. It comes off of the arm of Patrick Mahomes. It winds up in the hands of Eric Wilson. Now, how many of you saw that coming?
There was a flag on the play (uh oh), but it was on K.C. (whew, that was close). The call stands, but it wouldn’t be the Eagles if the good news wasn’t followed with bad news.
Umm, what were they doing on the offensive drive that followed the turnover? The Eagles’ offense moved into scoring position and despite two penalties (a false start to begin the drive and a delay of game call), they walked away with points, but not before Philly would eventually see the drive stall, set up for a field goal, and gain new life because of a special teams penalty.
How did that end? You guessed it! They took good news and responded by creating a little bad news to take the wind out of your sails.
Jalen Hurts would throw a touchdown pass to Zach Ertz, but the touchdown would be nullified by an offensive pass interference call on JJ Arcega-Whiteside. Philly would be forced to settle for a field goal. Then, they let the K.C. drive right back down the field and score a touchdown.
Good news… Bad news…This is going to be a long year. Heck, the weeks are seemingly getting longer and longer.
