Jalen Hurts’ final grades for Week 7.

We mentioned stats earlier and how they don’t always give us an accurate understanding of what went on during the course of a football game. We’ve all seen Jalen Hurts receive high marks from the stat gurus over at Pro Football Focus. We’ve also seen tweets about how Hurts’ numbers have historically placed QB1 with some very prominent company as, week after week, he’s done something that no other NFL quarterback or few other quarterbacks have done.

The fact of the matter is this. While a two-touchdown performance continues to strengthen the argument that Hurts is a goldmine for Fantasy football owners, much of his success comes in garbage time when the game has already been decided.

That’s why the final score reads an 11-point loss (33-22) but it feels like the Eagles lost by 30 in a game where QB1 completed just under 53 percent of his passes but still wound up with a quarterback ranking of 94.7.

In short, here’s where we are after Week 7. It would be much more accurate to give him a grade of incomplete when Philly continues to implode and he gets minimal help from his O-line, skill players, and coaches. Might we say an injured Jordan Mailata has something to do with the opposing team’s pass rush? Perhaps that MCL strain is still bothering him?

Frankly, this game didn’t teach us anything about QB1 that we don’t already know, but that won’t stop us from offering our opinion about how he’s doing. Here are your final grades.
