Philadelphia Eagles studs and duds following Week 7 loss to Raiders
The Philadelphia Eagles’ front office and coaching staff need to take accountability.
Dud: Nick Sirianni/Jonathan Gannon, Coaching Staff.
After ten days off from a tough loss, the thought was that the Eagles should and would come out firing on all cylinders in Week 7, but this team did the exact opposite. The offense could not get anything going until late in the game, and the defense allowed a no-name tight end and second-string running back to make plays all over the field.
Now, we can beat the dead horse of this being a rebuilding year, but in all honesty, this team’s performance in this game was pathetic. It is mind-blowing that after ten days off, this was the best game plan that they could come up with on both sides of this ball.
Sirianni refuses to help his quarterback by allowing him to run the up-tempo offense that he seems to thrive in. Gannon refuses to bring pressure. The Eagles’ coaching staff laid an egg in this game, and they need to be held accountable.
Dud: Howie Roseman, General Manager.
As we are speaking of accountability, the general manager of this team, Howie Roseman, has a lot of blame to shoulder as well. He’s limited this team’s ability to acquire better talent in the offseason (because of how bad he has handled the salary cap situation). He’s hired, quite possibly, the two worst coaches in franchise history. It’s insane that he still has a job.
Roseman’s name has not been in the mill of social media lately, but the roster that has been constructed is eroding quickly. Fans are all starting to see how bad this team is. The Eagles have an extremely easy schedule moving forward, but it won’t seem that way if things continue in the manner that they’ve gone so far.
