Philadelphia Eagles stay or go: Which players make the cut in 2022?
The Philadelphia Eagles can cut these guys sooner rather than later.
Go: Reid Sinnett, quarterback
Raise your hand if you knew that the Philadelphia Eagles had another quarterback on the roster and that his name was Reid Sinnett? Be honest. Some of you didn’t know that, did you?
It may not matter much though. If the Philadelphia Eagles take a quarterback in the coming draft, a very probable scenario, all roads lead to the practice squad for Sinnett or worse.
Go: Boston Scott, running back
Boston Scott is a very capable running back and has made the most of his opportunities when he’s been given them. The current coaching staff doesn’t trust him for whatever reason, and that’s probably stifled this team more often than not.
Still, guys don’t wind up as sixth-round draft choices by accident, and at this point, with Sanders and Gainwell already on the roster, the Philadelphia Eagles would be better suited to invest resources, not in re-signing Scott but into finding a workhorse that can churn out tough yards and run over some people.
Go: JJ Arcega-Whiteside, wide receiver
Seriously, does this one really need an explanation?
Go: Greg Ward, wide receiver
Greg Ward has earned the respect of his teammates and the media, but the problem that he’ll typically run into will be the fact that on any decent roster, he’ll be the fifth or sixth-best wide receiver. The Eagles need a physical wideout that can pull down some contested catches, not another wideout in the same mold as Reagor and Smith.
Go: Jake Elliott, kicker
Jake Elliott is paid like he’s the best kicker in football, but judging by the fact that there’s this nervousness every time he lines up to attempt one, maybe the Eagles would be better suited to see what’s out there.
