Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Derek Barnett

At this point, we’ve all expressed our disappointment with Derek Barnett enough. We’ve gone on and on about how frustrated that we all are with his lack of production.

We’ve talked about his tendency to stop thinking during the game, how he’s often lacked discipline and how all of those personal-foul penalties put his team in so many bad positions. We’ve even complained about how he’s often defended for those bone-headed moments. Then, it hit us.

What if, by chance, the Eagles actually came to their senses? What if they decided that they had seen enough and that moving on from him was indeed the best thing for this team? We’ve never seen any evidence that they’ve said that, but hang in there. We’re going somewhere.

If the Eagles did decide to make an attempt to sell Barnett at the trade deadline, then bashing him would make no sense. You can’t go on and on about how bad this guy is and expect someone to take him off of your hands.

So, how about this? Let’s just say that Barnett is a former top-15 pick, that he is the man that broke Reggie White’s sack record with the Tennessee Volunteers, and that any team looking for EDGE help would be lucky to have him.

Yeah… Yeah… That’s it (wink).
