54. . . . Tight ends. . player

This was once, arguably, the Philadelphia Eagles’ best position group on offense.

We’ve all known for quite some time that the Philadelphia Eagles were never going to be able to hang onto Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert, especially when both would be at the end of their current deals once the curtain fell on the 2021-2022 regular season.

There’s something else to consider here. Though their bond will always be there, neither of these guys wanted to play second fiddle to the other, nor did they want to continue the arrangement in which they were asked to split snaps. There’s nothing wrong with that though.

Ertz still has some gas left in the tank, and Goedert is one of the best young tight ends in the game with a bright future ahead of him. He’s also a better blocker than Ertz and a better runner after the catch. The Birds have to figure a way to get the ball into his hands with more consistency.

This is a team with talent at the position. Much is expected of the six-foot-seven, 249-pound Tyree Jackson when he returns from the injured reserve. Jason Croom is on the IR as well, and Richard Rodgers and Noah Togiai are on the practice squad.

Joining Goedert on the active roster is Jack Stoll. This team really likes him. To make long stories short, Goedert alone is worthy of an A+, but you have to believe this unit’s punch loses a lot of steam if he suffers any sort of injury. Grade: B+
