Jalen Hurts worst throws of Week 9

Throwing the ball remains a fixed bag for QB1, but he’s admitted to such. Week 9 was a little different, however.

This wasn’t one of those games in which we walked away talking about bad throws that he has to stop making. Jalen Hurts’ best throws were phenomenal. His worst two throws can be explained and fall under the category of those unfortunate things that occur during the course of a four-quarter game.

Football is a game of inches, and a slight adjustment could have made the difference in two completions being made. If you saw this one, you know exactly what we’re discussing.

12:52 remaining in 1st quarter: Early on in the first quarter, on 3rd-and-five from L.A.’s 45-yard line, Hurts misses a wide-open Dallas Goedert running free at the Chargers’ 20-yard line. This one was thrown about five yards further than it should have been. Hurts had pressure in his face, and that led to the overthrow.

:28 remaining in 2nd quarter: On 3rd-and-goal from L.A.’s 11-yard line, Hurts misses an open DeVonta Smith running towards the back left corner of the end zone. This one was just a bad throw. QB1 was back-peddling and threw a bad-looking toss off of his back foot.

Hurts said he should have set up to make a better throw. Smith said he stumbled and would have gotten to where he needed to be had he not. Here’s another example of growing pains.
