Eagles midseason 2022 NFL mock draft: Bolstering Philadelphia’s defense
By Ryan Loftus
Round 6, Pick 192 (IND)
Mike Rose is another player that has the potential to move up a few boards during the pre-draft process. This draft for the Philadelphia Eagles has been all about size, and at six-foot-four, Rose fits that theme perfectly.
With a near-open linebacker room on the team, Rose has the opportunity to play significant snaps early if drafted. He won Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2020 and has had six interceptions throughout his career. He also can stop the run as he has shown he has the strength to tackle and shed blocks.
Round 6, Pick 206
If the Eagles don’t trade back or acquire more picks, they would be left out of the seventh round and this would be their final pick.
With it, they look to running back Kennedy Brooks. He is exactly what the Eagles need, a bruiser. Sure, they have Jordan Howard, who some consider a power back, but he’s more of a hybrid, someone who can shift between power and shiftiness.
Brooks uses his wide frame and quick acceleration to run through defenders, and his running style is being compared to Derrick Henry. No Philadelphia Eagles fan would complain if the team grans him and that turns out to be true.
