Philadelphia Eagles Week 10 duds

1. Derek Barnett, defensive end

Perhaps Derek Barnett gets paid by the penalty as opposed to being paid to make tackles and rack up quarterback sacks. What can we say? It’s always him!

D.B. had a nice-looking sack in the first half, but he negated that with two penalties, one of which was of the personal-foul variety (his specialty). That one extended a drive after the Birds stopped the Broncos on third down. Fortunately, Philadelphia still held Denver to a field goal.

2. The Eagles defensive line.

Playing against three backups along the Broncos offensive line, you would have liked to have seen the Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive line dominate the line of scrimmage more often than they were able to.

The Broncos gashed Philly repeatedly in the running game and protected Teddy Bridgewater very well throughout this one.

3. Jonathan Gannon, defensive coordinator

Jonathan Gannon makes his weekly appearance on the duds list. Though he called a better game than normal, the Eagles were still too passive in this one.

Rarely did Teddy Bridgewater throw the ball down the field. Everything was underneath, and that was enough to extend drives and give the Eagles more headaches than they should have been given.

4. Nate Herbig, offensive lineman

We won’t beat the guy up too much, but what was going on with that snap?

5. Jalen Reagor, wide receiver

The Philadelphia Eagles really need to think about diagraming plays that specifically highlight Quez Watkins as the primary receiver as opposed to manufacturing ways to get the ball into Jalen Reagor‘s hands.

What’s sad is he isn’t even running in the right direction now. He has -14 yards rushing on his last two running plays. He also had one catch for 12 yards though we can’t for the life of us remember when it happened.
