. Daniel Jones, Giants. 4. player. 31. .

Jalen Hurts’ first duel with Daniel Jones comes three days after Thanksgiving.

Maybe it’s a thought that’s only shared by New York Giants fans and people who find Daniel Jones to be interesting, but there are times when one might wonder what Daniel Jones would have become had he landed in the hands of someone like Sean McVay or Sean Payton. With someone of Jones’ talent, the best-case scenario would have been for him to land in the hands of some sort of quarterback whisperer.

What if he would have found his way to Kyle Shanahan or Frank Reich? Nope, instead, he got Pat Shurmur, and though Shurmur is seen by most of the NFL as one of the game’s best offensive minds, more often than not, it hasn’t looked like it.

Following Shurmur’s dismissal by Big Blue, the Giants decided to replace him with a defensive-minded head coach, Joe Judge. That decision has yet to yield positive fruit, but the worst part about it for Giants fans (something that Eagles fans won’t complain about) is the fact that, as a result, Daniel Jones’ career seems to be stuck in neutral.

As a starter, he’s the owner of an 11-24 record, and he’s tossed 43 touchdowns versus 27 scores while scoring five more times with his legs.
