3 Keys to victory for Philadelphia Eagles versus New Orleans Saints
By Hunter Doyle
3. The Philadelphia Eagles must keep their eyes on Deonte Harris.
This year, Deonte Harris has gone from swiss army knife to becoming a legitimate WR1. At five-foot-six and 170 pounds, Harris can burn defenses just like former Saint and Eagle Darren Sproles used to do.
Whether it’s a go route, double move, dig, drag route, or jet sweep, he will find a way to get to the second level and take it to the house. He can do it split out wide or in the slot. Every once in a while, he lines up in the backfield too which we could see more of in Kamara’s absence.
Similar to Cordarelle Patterson, opposing special teams units cannot relax on kickoffs because Harris is almost certain to bring the ball out. Currently, he is averaging 26.1 yards per return on 18 returns as he’s racked up 469 yards so far this season. He is also averaging a career-high 14.1 yards per punt return.
In short, Harris is a big play waiting to happen. The Philadelphia Eagles must take note of where he is on the field at all times.
