Eagles vs New York: 10 Giants besides Saquon Barkley to watch
The Giants defense will look to disrupt the Eagles rushing attack.
The Philadelphia Eagles look like the bullies of the block when they run the ball. Here are five Giants that will look to disrupt their ground game and make Jalen Hurts uncomfortable.
Xavier McKinney, strong safety
If the Giants are looking to climb out of obscurity, Xavier McKinney is a nice building block to begin the process. He racked up 25 total tackles and an interception in six games a season ago, and he’s been the starter in nine of New York’s first ten games in 2021.
James Bradberry, cornerback
It seems like it’s been forever since this was a discussion, but once upon a time, there was a discussion about James Bradberry possibly ending up in an Eagles jersey. He signed with the enemy, and Philly ended up trading for Darius Slay.
Bradberry picked off Carson Wentz in Week 7 last year. Let’s hope he doesn’t pick off Jalen Hurts in Week 12.
Tae Crowder, middle linebacker
Tae Crowder leads the Giants in total tackles with 73 coming into Week 12 and will be one of the weapons that New York deploys to limit Philly’s running game.
Leonard Williams, defensive end
Leonard Williams is tied for the team lead in sacks (5.5) and is tied for the fourth-place spot on the team in total tackles with 53 of those.
Logan Ryan, free safety
Logan Ryan was one of the Giants’ prized acquisitions in 2020 and has already evolved into one of the team leaders. He’s second on the team with 72 total tackles, and even though he isn’t seen as being a ballhawk, if Hurts takes any unnecessary chances with the football, Ryan could wind up with his first pick of the season.
