3. Everything wrong with the Eagles falls at Howie Roseman’s doorstep.

Well, you had to know that this was coming, right? Howie Roseman has a tough job to do, but there are only three aspects of his job that we care about: overseeing the draft process, finding players that put this Philadelphia Eagles team in the best position to win, and managing the salary cap so that the Eagles can be competitive in free agency and hold on to their best players when they become eligible for new deals.

Howie has never proven that he can do either of those jobs well and do so consistently. Case in point, he took JJ Arcega-Whiteside over D.K. Metcalf and he took Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson in consecutive drafts. Metcalf and Jefferson are stars. JJAW and Reagor? Well, let’s just say that they’re behind those other two in their development.

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s unfair to ask Jalen Reagor to become some semblance of a capable wide receiver. He’s never going to be one. What we need to do is point the finger where it belongs, at the coaching staff and leadership structure that keeps putting not only Jalen Reagor, but also Derek Barnett and JJ Arcega-Whiteside on the field to begin with.

It appears that, in Philadelphia, there’s a serious issue. Howie Roseman and Jeffrey Lurie aren’t learning from their mistakes. Being right has become more important than winning football games, and until that changes, the results will continue to be the same as we’re seeing.

At the end of the day, that isn’t Jalen Reagor’s fault. It’s the fault of a once-proud organization that has become both stubborn and stale. Why is Reagor on the field when the Eagles have to put a winning drive together you ask? It’s simple. He’s being given more playing time because of where he was drafted, not because he’s better. It’s as simple as that.
