Eagles defensive end Ryan Kerrigan

Raise your hand if you forgot that Ryan Kerrigan was on the team. No one will challenge your standing as an Eagles fan if that applies to you. He hasn’t done much to give anyone the impression that what’s sure to be his only season in the City of Brotherly Love will be remembered as anything more than a money grab for the former four-time Pro Bowler.

So far, in 2021, Kerrigan has stumbled his way into two solo tackles. That’s it, and you can place the emphasis on the word stumble there. These days, guys literally have to run into him if he’s going to have any shot at making a play.

He’s looked old. He hasn’t registered any sacks. Kerrigan hasn’t done anything of note following Howie Roseman’s decision to put pen to paper on a one-year, 2.5 million deal.

Perhaps we should have been tipped off when the Washington Football Team gave up on him and didn’t seem to bat an eyelash when it was learned that the Eagles were signing him and they’d have to face him twice this season.

Ryan Kerrigan will always be remembered for being a thorn in the Eagles’ side. Unfortunately, once his time as a member of this franchise is over, there won’t be any positive memories about him that we’ll be able to add to any discussion involving his name.
