Brandon Graham. 55. player. 54. . .

Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham

There’s no way the Eagles can keep Brandon Graham at this point, is it?

Here’s something that we haven’t mentioned yet but probably should. That Josh Sweat extension might have seemed like it was handed out a little early, but the decision to offer him one is completely understandable. Look at Philadelphia’s situation at the defensive end position.

The Eagles won’t be walking into battle in 2021 with Ryan Kerrigan on the roster, nor will they torture us with another year of Derek Barnett. That would leave this team with both a young Tarron Jackson and the raw and aforementioned Sweat. Then, there’s Brandon Graham. What should Philly do about him?

If anyone else has this sneaking suspicion that Howie Roseman might do what we once thought was impossible and ink B.G. for one more ride, don’t second-guess yourself. That’s one of those moves that wouldn’t shock anyone if it happened or surprise anyone if it didn’t.

For now, as much as we love B.G. and appreciate everything that he’s done for this organization since 2017, though the best play might be moving on (he’ll be coming off of a major injury and 34 years old when the 2022 regular season begins), no one can rule out any possibility of Howie bringing him back.

After all, no one wants to see his Eagles career end with an injury, but for now, we’ll put our emotions on the shelf. We’ll go with our gut, and as of now, it’s saying that this is it.
