Bold predictions for the Philadelphia Eagles defense

The Philadelphia Eagles defense did its job in Week 12, for the most part. It’s sad that we have had to spend the better part of a week asking how the offense was only able to manage seven points after a nice showing by Jonathan Gannon’s guys.

Fear not though. Philly’s defense will keep the momentum going versus a struggling Jets team as they should.

1. The Eagles’ defense forces three turnovers.

Give the Giants credit, even though none of us really want to. They did exactly what they needed to do to hang a loss on their division rivals from the City of Brotherly Love. They asked their turnover-prone quarterback to be careful with the football and play conservatively, and somehow, Avonte Maddox and T.J. Edwards still almost forced turnovers.

Have you seen Zach Wilson play yet? He’ll have none of this ‘protect the football’ crap! Even in a Week 13 win versus the Houston Texans, he threw an interception, and heading into Week 13 minus Keelan Cole and, potentially, Corey Davis, expecting the rookie to press seems like a safe bet, especially if the Jets trail by multiple scores. The Eagles defense is going to feast. Write it down.

2. The Eagles’ defense holds the Jets to less than 250 total yards and comes up with four sacks.

The more we look at it, we like the way the matchup looks between the Eagles’ defensive tackle rotation (Fletcher Cox, Milton Williams, and Javon Hargrave) and the interior of the Jets’ offensive line (Alijah Vera-Tucker, Connor McGovern, and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif).

Trending. Jets not named Zach Wilson to watch in Week 13. light

We’re thinking our guys will make some magic happen, and that will fuel a four-sack performance, one coming from both Milton Williams Javon Hargrave.

The Eagles hold the Jets to under 250 yards of total offense en route to a three-score win. Prediction: Eagles 31, Jets 13
