. player. 47. . . . Nelson Agholor, wide receiver

We can’t believe we’re saying this, but the Eagles should have held on to Agholor.

Remember when we were talking about culture? When Nelson Agholor was still rocking the midnight green, the most common conversations about him surrounded dropping the football, the fact that he and Alshon Jeffery were seemingly out to get Carson Wentz, and how a brilliant run in 2017 coupled with a semi-awesome showing a year later in 2018 was sandwiched between two stretches of some bad football by the former first-rounder.

At the risk of putting words in someone’s mouth, here’s the verdict after some long deliberation. Nelson Agholor has been serviceable with Nick Foles, Derek Carr, and now Mac Jones. Nelson Agholor just didn’t like one of his co-workers… You know. That guy playing in Indy now.

Agholor, despite his reputation, isn’t dropping the ball any more frequently than some of these Eagles receivers have let Jalen Hurts down! We won’t name anyone in particular. You guys can argue among yourselves.

All we’re saying is this. Sure, it would have made zero sense to break the bank to keep this guy around based on the previous results, and that’s probably what it would have taken to make that happen. Even still, there’s no reason to believe that Agholor wouldn’t have been more valuable to this current Eagles team than JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Greg Ward, or John Hightower.

Not only that, heading into Week 14 of the regular season, he has more receiving yards than Jalen Reagor, Greg Ward, JJAW, Hightower, Jack Stoll, and Tyree Jackson combined. You don’t think this Eagles offense could benefit from 416 more receiving yards and three more touchdowns?
