Philadelphia Eagles versus Washington Week 15 inactives
Well, it’s been one heck of a bye week. The Philadelphia Eagles have never, in their 88-year history, walked into their week off this late in the season, nor have they played an NFL season that was as long as this one. Thankfully, many of these guys are young, so they can’t actually see the difference between what’s happening now and how things have always been.
All DeVonta Smith, Milton Williams, and Landon Dickerson know are the rigors of an 18-week, 17-game grind.
As you’d imagine, all of this also means that the Eagles have never had this long of a layoff between two games after the league’s 13th week of action. By the time the Birds and Washington Football Team FINALLY get on the field to play some ball, 16 days will have passed since the last time we’ve seen Philadelphia play.
Buckle up youngins. We have much to discuss.
Here’ are the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Football Team Week 15 inactives.
One can argue that the extra time off could do the Eagles some good. Guys like Jalen Hurts, Jordan Howard, and Miles Sanders should benefit from having extra time to heal from some nagging injuries.
The argument can also be made that Philadelphia, having done nothing wrong in terms of COVID-19 protocol, is being punished. This now means that they’ll play two games in the span of about six days. They’ll also play three games in the span of 13. Keep in mind the fact that this is a team that’s in the middle of a playoff push.
Good news came on Friday. Hurts, Sanders, and Howard were all full participants at Friday’s practice. As were the other six guys listed. Take a look.
How about Jason Kelce? Is he a tough son of a gun or what?
Head coach Nick Sirianni stated during his Friday afternoon presser that Sanders and Howard are both a go for Week 15. Hurts was given the ‘questionable’ designation, but with the extra time, the feeling is he’ll play.
Washington has 25 guys on their Reserve/COVID 19 list and another six guys on their Week 15 injury report: linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk (hamstring), running back J.D. McKissic (concussion), wide receiver Terry McLaurin (concussion), wide receiver Curtis Samuel (hamstring), linebacker Cole Holcomb (ankle), and guard Brandon Scherff (ankle).
Gametime approaches, albeit much later than when we originally thought it would be (the festivities are now scheduled for Tuesday, December 21st). Expect to hear a lot about the league’s decision between now and kickoff.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ final inactive report will be released 90 minutes before kickoff. Bookmark this one, and watch the space below as we will update this post as soon as we get the information.
Update: 12/18: Washington activated five players from their Reserve/COVID-19 list. One of which was Montez Sweat, who they also allowed to return to practice.
The Eagles participated in a walkthrough on Saturday. Their injury report for that day was an estimation of where everyone was from a physical standpoint.
December 20th Update: The Eagles and Washington released their respective status reports on Monday, and after announcing on Sunday that they had added OL Landon Dickerson to the Reserve/COVID-19 list, offensive tackle Andre Dillard joined him there on Monday.
There’s no specific destination for Jalen Hurts, so it appears he’ll start and play as expected. Running back J.D. McKissic (concussion) and wide receiver Curtis Samuel (hamstring) are out for Washington. Tight end Ricky Seals-Jones (illness) is questionable.
Update (December 21st at 5:30 p.m. EST): Final inactive reports
