Jalen Hurts’ best throws versus Washington in Week 15

Here’s where we normally compare some of Jalen Hurts’ best throws to some of his worst but wait a second. Did he even have a bad throw in this one? Many of his incompletions (and he only had six), were a result of his receivers letting him down with some untimely drops.

Dallas Goedert had two of those drops. We don’t expect that to be the norm going forward, but if you were looking for some evidence that QB1 is progressing as a passer, Week 15 gave you some hope. Here are a couple of examples:

With 6:48 remaining in the first quarter, the Eagles are scrimmaging from their 35-yard line and have to keep a drive going after an interception on their first drive led to seven points for Washington.

Hurts, from the shotgun, finds Dallas Goedert in a defensive void, and the first-down reception moves the ball to the Washington 46. Philly would fumble on the drive, but it was good to see them go right back to Goedert and get him fired up after the pick. He’d go on to have a good night.

10:57 remaining in the second: Speaking of Goedert’s great night, Hurts’ deep pass from the Eagles’ 29-yard line to the Washington 31-yard line was a thing of beauty. Take a look:

The play-fake was well-executed, Dallas climbed the ladder to make a contested catch, and that set up the Eagles’ first score, a 20-yard boot by Jake Elliott.
