54. . . . Javon Hargrave, defensive tackle. 97. player

For the Philadelphia Eagles DT Javon Hargrave, the argument is debatable.

Over the course of his first six seasons in the NFL, Javon Hargrave has already worn three different numbers. He only signed a three-year deal with Birds on March 21st of 2020. Things got off to a slow start when he was rocking that number 93 jersey, but he came on late.

He’s been a stud throughout the 2021-2022 regular season. Sure, he’s cooled some as the season has gone on after a hot start. Teams are game-planning for him now, but the same can be said about Kenny Clark of the Green Bay Packers. Since Week 7 of the current NFL season, he’s notched one tackle for a loss of yardage and one sack.

So what’s the difference? It should be easy to see. There’s nothing that states Kenny Clark is exponentially better than Javon Hargrave, but the Packers are winning at a higher clip. Sometimes that’s all that it takes.

For Javon Hargrave, one of the NFC’s best defensive tackles, the national acclaim may have to wait. He has yet to be voted to a Pro Bowl. He is an alternate. If Aaron Donald or Kenny Clark wind up in the Super Bowl, he may find himself on the roster anyway.
