123. . . . Dallas Cowboys. 1. team

The Philadelphia Eagles could be looking up at the Cowboys for a while.

For the longest time, the NFC East was referred to as the ‘money division’ with its four teams being among the NFL’s most popular franchises. Whenever there are interdivisional games, league offices make sure they find a way to get them on national television more often than not. The records don’t matter.

Have you ever wondered why the Dallas Cowboys and Eagles always find themselves in a primetime game? That would be the reason, but even though the NFC’s eastern division has been dubbed as the ‘NFC Least’ recently, its current makeup isn’t much different than what we see in other divisions from time to time.

There are historical instances when one team is superior to the other three in its division. No one ever uttered the words ‘AFC Least’ when all of the New England Patriots’ rivals all fell on hard times (and did so for almost 20 years).

As of right now, the Cowboys are light years ahead of Philly, the New York Giants, and Washington Football Team in terms of being a contender. That’s a fact, and until the Philadelphia Eagles are capable of beating Dallas regularly, the Cowboys are always going to ensure the Birds are battling for a Wild Card spot.

Gone are the days where the Birds can win the division with a 9-7 record. The Eagles’ shot at the postseason could come down to a Week 18 game versus the so-called America’s Team, and if Dallas still has something to play for, even the most loyal Eagles fan has to be worried about the chances.
