. Dallas Cowboys. 4. team. 123. .

Familiarity could do the Philadelphia Eagles some good here.

Questions about how the Philadelphia Eagles could lay eggs versus the Washington Football Team for three of the eight quarters they played them this season are easy to answer. The same can be said about a disappointing Week 12 loss to one of the NFL’s worst teams, the New York Giants.

Records don’t matter when teams that play in the same division square off versus one another. That’s been true in the NFC East for decades. After all, you’re playing the teams that you’re most familiar with, the teams that you play twice annually.

Look. Here’s the thing. Questions about whether or not the Eagles and Dallas Cowboys should play their starters or sit them as they wait on the postseason will be asked all week. Still, even though the Birds have dropped two straight versus the so-called America’s Team (and six of the last eight meetings), here’s something that you can hang your hat on as a sign of encouragement.

If the Eagles avoid the slow start and don’t find themselves in a 21-0 hole early, you have to believe that, of all of the potential first-round opponents that Philadelphia might face, the Cowboys might be the team that they’d have the highest chance of toppling.
