Two things that seem to contradict one another can be true at the same time. If you’re both encouraged and frustrated by this Philadelphia Eagles team, fear not. You most certainly are not alone. The 2021-2022 season was quite the emotional roller-coaster, and this team’s starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts, is a lot of the reason why that’s the case.

If you’re still on the fence about Philly’s QB1 of the moment, don’t fret. There are a lot of people who feel the same way, so again, even though it seems contradictory to state that this team wouldn’t have made the playoffs without Hurts, you are also allowed to feel like you’re having a hard time trusting him. It’s perfectly okay.

This is what happens when you have a young quarterback who has talent but has proven to be both raw and unpolished. This is also why you’ve been hearing rumors about Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson all season.

NFL insider proposes a plan for adding Wilson and keeping Jalen Hurts.

Raise your hand if part of your hangup with the ‘trading for a veteran QB’ or ‘moving on from Jalen Hurts’ theories include thoughts like the following:

1. If the Eagles are thinking about drafting a quarterback, they might as well stay with Hurts. None of the guys coming in are any better.

2. Deshaun Watson has legal trouble, and Russell Wilson doesn’t even want to come here. Heck, it looks like Watson doesn’t even want to come here!

3. If the Eagles put together a trade package to land a veteran, that package must include Jalen Hurts correct?

All of those are questions we’ve asked. They’re all valid. What if we told you that there are indeed ways to bring in a veteran signal-caller AND hang on to Hurts? As a matter of fact, a well-known NFL insider came up with one recently.

Here’s some fair warning. You aren’t going to like the proposal, but it is worth a mention.

Daniel Jeremiah is a mainstay at NFL Network and the host of his own Move The Sticks Podcast . Here’s an idea that he came up with.

Now, again, we don’t like the trade at all, but at least someone has the creative juices flowing. The Eagles give all three of those first-round picks away? Seriously?

As you can see, Jeremiah prefaced his scenario by stating ‘fun trade discussion’, but in all seriousness. If something like this were to happen, we’d be talking about this for as long as football is played.

A trade of this magnitude would be looked at in the same manner that we look at the Minnesota Vikings after taking Herschel Walker from the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas wound up with so many draft picks that they built a team that won three Super Bowls.

Yeah, we respect Jeremiah and all. We love the fact that he woke us up and got us thinking, but we’ll respectfully have to decline the plan. We don’t like this one at all.
