Potential Eagles replacements for Anthony Harris: Tyrann Mathieu

The three-time Pro Bowler formerly known as the Honey Badger has always been seen as being potentially one of the game’s perennial all-pros, but after a decent run in Arizona with the Cardinals from 2013 to 2017 and a single season with the Houston Texans, Tyrann Mathieu has truly taken things to another level in his time with the Kansas City Chiefs and their defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.

Two of Mathieu’s trio of All-Pro nods have come in his three seasons in K.C. as have two of his three Pro Bowl nods. He turns 30 years young in May, but there’s plenty of gas left in his tank. The Chiefs have stars everywhere, but sometimes, that means that guys leave the nest.

Mathieu could hit the open market in March, and if he does, the Birds better pay attention.

Potential Eagles replacements for Anthony Harris: Jessie Bates III

Jessie Bates has it all. He’s young, gifted, ultra-talented, and durable. He’s missed two games during his young three-year NFL career, and one of those was a coach’s decision to keep him out of the Cincinnati Bengals’ regular-season finale as they prepared for a playoff appearance.

If he hits the open market, he’ll be one of the belles of the ball. The same can be said about Tyrann Mathieu.

In terms of numbers, here’s how good he’s been. In 63 regular-season games, he’s started every single one of them. The results have been fruitful: 408 total tackles, two forced fumbles, ten interceptions, and 35 pass breakups. He’s earned a Second-team All-Pro nod in 2020 for his efforts. Who knows what the Pro Bowl voters are thinking.
