54. Final. 42. 124. 30

Another Philadelphia Eagles home loss precedes a dramatic road win.

In Patrick Mahomes’ first start versus the Eagles, he delivered as expected. While the Chiefs crafted a huge lead early, Philadelphia hung in, took their lumps, and fought to the finish versus the defending AFC Champions.

The score was 21-13 at halftime, and the Eagles were a touchdown away from making it a close contest, but their defense couldn’t stop Mahomes when it mattered. Their offense couldn’t maintain traction, and this only became a game when K.C. took their foot off of the gas late.

This game put Johnathan Gannon’s defense under even more of a microscope despite registering their first interception of the year. Grade: D

After a strong 3-1 start by the Carolina Panthers, the Eagles were expected to fall short this game.  Sam Darnold heavily underperformed throughout 2021, but he truly helped the Eagles to a win in this one.

The Philadelphia Eagles defense intercepted Carolina’s QB on three separate occasions, including a pair of picks by Darius Slay. Jalen Hurts rushed for two touchdowns in the come-from-behind win, leading the Eagles to an ‘upset’ win over what was supposed to be a superior opponent. Grade: B+
