Ranking under-the-radar cornerbacks Eagles must scout at Senior Bowl
Potential Eagles target Roger McCreary, Auburn Tigers
Here’s another one of those good players that may lose some of the interest from teams needing an outside corner because of his size. Typically when cover guys top out at five-foot-eleven and 187 pounds, they’re pigeonholed into the slot position, and that could wind up being what you hear about Roger McCreary as we move towards the draft.
There’s another way to look at this though. Some of the best skill players in the country play in the western division of the Southeastern Conference, and after watching McCreary prove that he belongs for four seasons in the NCAA’s best football conference for providing NFL talent (that adds up to 39 games), he should be someone that every NFL team is making note of.
Potential Eagles target Akayleb Evans, Missouri Tigers
Unless you’re an alum or one of the Missouri Tigers’ most loyal fans, we’re going to assume that you missed a lot of their games during the time that Akayleb Evans was there. Here’s a rundown.
He’s tall and rangy at six-foot-one. At 200 pounds, he won’t be bullied by some of the NFL’s physical wide receivers. His resume looks solid too.
After adding 82 tackles, a sack, 11 pass breakups, and a forced fumble to his collegiate resume at Tulsa from 2017 to 2020, he added another 28 tackles, an interception, six pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 2021 during 11 games after transferring to Missouri.
Keep an eye on him. He should be one of the better cornerbacks playing in Mobile at the Senior Bowl on the first Saturday in February.
