852. . . . Boye Mafe, Minnesota. . player

Boye Mafe is a solid backup plan if the Eagles don’t get the EDGE star they want.

Logan Hall stacked 97 tackles and seven career sacks for the Houston Cougars in 34 career games. Former Minnesota Golden Gophers standout Boye Mafe tallied 87 career tackles and 15 sacks in 31 games at the NCAA level. Then, he showed up in Mobile, Alabama on a mission.

After a solid week of practice, he dominated in the game, racking up three tackles that resulted in a loss of yardage, two sacks, and a forced fumble. Hopefully, the Birds get one of the guys that everyone will be eyeing in Round 1, but again, if the world falls apart and they land Boye Mafe or Logan Hall later, they’ll have something solid to work with in the form of either guy.

Like Hall, Mafe is probably a Day 2 target. He didn’t get a ton of shine playing at Minnesota, but he did earn a well-deserved Second-Team All-Big Ten nod in his final season at the collegiate level. He was fun to watch on Saturdays and he’ll be equally as fun to watch on Sundays too.
