Khalil Shakir. . player. 895. . .

The Eagles shouldn’t write off Boise State or Baylor just yet.

Here’s something that you’ll hear a lot once we reach any NFL offseason by Eagles fans. We don’t want (player B) because he came from the same school that (player A) came from. That isn’t just ridiculous. It’s uninformed.

Should the Eagles ignore players from Alabama because Freddie Milons didn’t work out? If JaCoby Stevens doesn’t turn out to be the player that we hope becomes, should Philadelphia ignore every future prospect from the LSU Tigers program?

We say that because we know that the mere mention of Khalil Shakir will rub some people the wrong way, and that will only be the case because of the frustration everyone has with John Hightower. Shakir is a baller though, and he’s someone the Eagles should think about if they’re shopping for a receiver sometime on Day 3 of the draft.

In 43 games at the collegiate level, many of them on that blue football field, he hauled in 208 career receptions resulting in 2,878 receiving yards. He found his way into the end zone 20 times as a receiver and four more times as a rusher.
