. . Jalen Pitre, Baylor. . player. 860.

The Eagles won’t land Kyle Hamilton, but Jalen Pitre is no slouch.

Speaking of guys that didn’t work out, there was a lot of hope for Grayland Arnold when he joined the Eagles as an undrafted rookie in 2020, but in the end, it wasn’t meant to be. He appeared in six games for the Birds as a rookie and made 11 tackles before Philly gave up on him in 2021. He’s now a member of the Houston Texans.

Jalen Pitre appeared in 46 NCAA games over five seasons. He logged 195 tackles, eight sacks, four interceptions, four forced fumbles, ten pass breakups, and two defensive TDs over that span of time.

He’s a two-time First-team All-Big 12 nod (2020, 2021). He was also named as a Consensus First-Team All-American and the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2021.

He’s a versatile safety that can play cover-corner in the slot, and he’s a fantastic contingency plan seeing as how the Eagles have no shot at Kyle Hamilton (Notre Dame Fighting Irish) and probably won’t wind up with former Penn State Nittany Lions standout Jaquan Brisker either.

Hamilton will go early in Round 1. Brisker won’t be acquired as the Eagles will, more than likely, miss out as they address other needs.
