6 free agents who would love playing with Eagles QB Jalen Hurts
It’s doubtful that the Eagles make a run at Cam Robinson, but you never know.
After winning the College Football Playoff National Championship to punctuate the 2015 NCAA season, Cam Robinson saw The Tide bring in yet another star-studded recruiting class ahead of his final run in Tuscaloosa back in 2016. One of the guys Bama brought in that year was a freshman quarterback by the name of Jalen Hurts.
Jalen threw for 23 scores that season and ran for 13 more. Robinson simultaneously was having a season to remember as he won the Outland Trophy (given by the Football Writers Association of America to the best college football interior lineman in the United States), the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, and a First-Team All-SEC nod en route to being named a Unanimous All-American. The Jags drafted him 34th-overall during Round 2 of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Paths leading Robinson to Philadelphia are hard to draw and seem unlikely, After all, we’re talking about someone who plays a position that isn’t one of dire need, offensive tackle.
The Birds are set on both sides of the offensive line as they have everyone from Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson to Andre Dillard and Le’Raven Clark in the fold. All of those guys are making big money, but if there’s an unfortunate injury or something unforeseen happens, this could be a guy the Eagles add later if he, for whatever reason, gets ignored during the first wave of free agency.
Again, it’s doubtful, but this is the National Football League. You never know what the future holds.
