. . Tyree Jackson, tight end. . player. 54.

The Eagles need to end the Tyree Jackson experiment immediately.

If you didn’t know anything about Tyree Jackson and you saw him walk into a room, the first thought that crossed your mind would probably be something like the following: “Gosh, that’s a big dude! He has to be a professional athlete”.

At six-foot-seven and 247 pounds, Jackson, while with the Buffalo Bulls at the collegiate level, was as physically imposing as Cam Newton was in his prime (and two inches taller). The problem was he couldn’t spin the football like Cam. In 32 career games with the Bulls, Jackson only completed 55.8 percent of his passes.

Tyree didn’t have to travel too far from his NCAA stomping grounds to make his first stop in the NFL. The Buffalo Bills added him as an undrafted free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft.

Then, they waived him during final roster cuts on August 31st of 2019.

After spending the 2020 season with the DC Defenders and seeing his contract terminated when the league suspended operations on April 10th of 2020, the Eagles swooped in (pun intended) and signed him to a reserve/futures contract on January 7th.
