Trey Flowers, Lions. . player. 50. . .

Trey Flowers is someone the Eagles need to pay attention to.

Who knows what the Eagles are thinking sometimes. It took them forever to figure out they’d land a couple of good players if they went fishing in the Alabama Crimson Tide’s pool of talent, but when they finally did, they struck gold (DeVonta Smith and Landon Dickerson). Here’s something else you may have noticed about how they build their roster though.

They seem to love the idea of bringing in guys that didn’t  work out for the Detroit Lions, don’t they?

The acquisition of Casey Tucker was a weird one. There’s also that Kerryon Johnson thing. That doesn’t seem to be working out either… at least not to the level that they may have hoped.

That doesn’t mean that Philly can’t find good players if they raid the Lions’ roster. Darius Slay is a perfect example. He played well in the Motor City despite the circumstances surrounding him, and now, there’s also Trey Flowers to consider, potentially.

After following his former defensive coordinator in New England, Matt Patricia, to Detroit, Flowers had a decent first run, but hasn’t been able to stay on the field since. He’s ended each of the past two seasons on the Lions injured reserve, but if Detroit moves on, which is a very real possibility if he doesn’t undergo a major restructure, he could land on a few offseason radars, including that of the Philadelphia Eagles.
