QB. Carolina Panthers. Cam Newton. 1. player. 87.

If Carolina is willing to re-sign Cam Newton, it’d be best to let them do so. His decline has been disappointing to watch.

To be fair, he would probably thrive with some of the run concepts the Eagles implemented for Hurts such as GT counter bash. With his size, one can only imagine the damage he would do in space with Jordan Mailata and Landon Dickerson leading the way. While other quarterbacks are much better through the air, you can put your money on Newton winning some games in the Eagles’ offense because of his legs.

That being said, he went 0-5 in his five starts last year. He shouldn’t shoulder all of the blame, but  Carolina struggled to consistently move the ball with him at the helm. He’ll earn a backup job somewhere but it’d be a surprise to see Philly spend the extra money on him.

Verdict: Ignore unless the better options are taken. Even in that case, it would still need to be a team-friendly deal.

Just kidding… Let’s move on and wrap this one up.
