Despite how things ended, Brandon Brooks was a monster for the Eagles.

The Eagles have been known to miss on a few linemen in the draft (Danny Watkins) and free agency (Demetress Bell), but they’ve hit a few out of the park too.

It’s hard to overlook the fact that the team took a rugby star that never played American football before and turned him into star, Jordan Mailata, but Jordan was in a good position to be successful. There’s nothing like sitting in a meeting room and having Jeff Stoutland as your position coach and seeing guys like Jason Kelce, Brandon Brooks, and Lane Johnson in the room with you.

Like Connor Barwin, Philly snatched Brooks from the Houston Texans roster. Gosh… They’ve had some players come through the building, haven’t they?

Brooks’ career didn’t end how he may have liked as, eventually, his body began to let him down in his later years, but nothing says brilliance like what this young man gave the Eagles from 2016 to 2019.

In total, Brooks appeared in 69 games for the Birds and started every single one of them. That includes five career playoff games. More importantly, he locked down the right guard spot playing between Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson for a four-year stretch and helped Philadelphia win Super Bowl LII while racking up a few personal accolades. He earned three consecutive Pro Bowl nods from 2017 to 2019.
