Departures

Haason Reddick’s signing made Derek Barnett’s release from the Eagles a no-brainer.

We all saw this coming. We knew something was up when Philadelphia gave an extension to Josh Sweat instead of Derek Barnett. The writing was most certainly on the wall when the aforementioned Haason Reddick was signed. Barnett’s run with the Eagles ends after five seasons.

And, just like that, every member of the eight-man draft class that we were introduced to in 2017 is gone. Four of those guys (Donnel Pumphrey, Shelton Gibson, Nathan Gerry, and Elijah Qualls) aren’t playing anywhere, but believe it or not, Mack Hollins just got picked up by the Las Vegas Raiders.

Sorry, we were regressed. Where were we? Oh yeah… The Eagles…

Here’s a list of a few more familiar faces that are set to enter the pool of available free agents: linebacker Genard Avery, safety Anthony Harris, defensive end Ryan Kerrigan, safety Rodney McLeod, cornerback Steven Nelson, defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway, linebacker Alex Singleton, tight end Jason Croom, and running backs Jordan Howard and Boston Scott.
