Bold predictions for Eagles during remainder of free agency, NFL Draft
The Eagles trade with the Seahawks for D.K. Metcalf.
How many times have you heard and/or told the story about the Eagles missing on D.K. Metcalf and winding up with a far-less-talented JJ Arcega-Whiteside? It hurts every time we watch Metcalf play football. That’s only a part of the story though.
One year later, with much on the line again, the Eagles were shopping for a wide receiver in the first round of the NFL Draft again, and they missed again, going with Jalen Reagor when Justin Jefferson was still available.
You can argue that there was only one team that had Reagor rated over Jefferson, and that team was the Philadelphia Eagles. The Minnesota Vikings were literally laughing in their war room at Philadelphia for going with Reagor.
The point is this. Part of the reason that the Reagor snafu looks so bad is because of the mistake that preceded it. What if we told you that there was an outside shot of the Eagles’ brass correcting this mistake almost three years later?
If the Seattle Seahawks are in the middle of a fire sale, D.K. Metcalf could be on the trade block, and there’s no reason to believe the Birds wouldn’t have an interest.
We know they had a deal in place to acquire Calvin Ridley, and then, you know what happened. It’s a longshot. Much would have to happen, but a move like this would fix a few hurt feelings. Don’t think for a second that the Eagles haven’t already thought about it.
