8. player. 895. . . . Khalil Shakir, Boise State

Khalil Shakir and Josh Johnson might be rising on the Eagles draft board.

As of right now, Khalil Shakir looks like a special teamer and backup, but that could change with some quality coaching. You can argue among yourselves about whether or not there’s any possibility that he’ll get that from Aaron Moorehead.

In the meantime, we can talk about what he did at the collegiate level from a statistical standpoint. He improved in each of his four seasons with the Boise State Broncos, capping off a nice run with 77 receptions for 1,117 yards and seven trips to the end zone during his senior year.

Josh Johnson transferred from the Iowa State Cyclones to the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes after his freshman season in 2018, and that move from the Big 12 to the American Athletic Conference turned out to be a pretty good idea.

His final three seasons saw him tally 165 receptions for 2,108 yards and 13 touchdowns. He’s undersized at five-foot-ten and 183 pounds which means that he’s a prime candidate to wind up being a slot receiver at the professional level, but he has some serious speed.

He’s a 4.4-second 40-yard dash guy. He tends to look faster than that at times when he gets the ball in his hands though.
