It hasn’t been the phenomenal offseason that Eagles fans have been hoping for.

This isn’t how this was supposed to play out. Everything had finally come together. The Philadelphia Eagles made the playoffs. This young team got some postseason experience. They walked into the offseason feeling good about themselves because they had draft capital and money to spend.

Why is it that everyone looks so dejected when they talk about this team then? Oh, that’s right. We remember. Being in love with the Birds can sometimes feel like you’re in a relationship that’s one-sided.

They haven’t done anything that’s so terrible it would make you want to leave, but every time they get your hopes up, they find a way to disappoint you. You feel like you’re giving more than you’re getting, right?

Trust us. We’ve watched these guys for a long time. We’ve had our share of ups and downs too, but look at the bright side. You could have been born a Detroit Lions or Cleveland Browns fan. That ought to make you feel better.

You have to keep your heads up friends. Loving an NFL team means you will have rainy days. You can’t give up hope. Something magical can happen in the NFL Draft. Until then, let’s look back at how we got here.

It hasn’t been the offseason coup that Eagles fans had hoped for. This team seems to be stuck in neutral, for the time being anyway, and you can blame these moves for part of the frustration.
