Eagles 2022 NFL 7-round mock drafts decided by a computer simulation
The Philadelphia Eagles finally find the complement for Darius Slay in Round 2.
Don’t be shocked if the Eagles ignore a defensive back in Round 1. They’ve only taken one three times: Roynell Young (1980), Ben Smith (1990), Lito Sheppard (2002). As you’ve probably noticed, only one was taken with one of the first two picks during the three simulations.
With the outside cornerback position opposite Darius Slay still being a question mark, they address their secondary needs by adding Kyler Gordon in two of the three sims. They add safety Nick Cross (Maryland) during the other.
Simulation 2: David Ojabo (Michigan EDGE)
Someone will hit the jackpot with David Ojabo as his pre-draft injury all but assures someone will get him later than they would have had he been healthy. The Birds are the lucky recipients here.
Simulation 3: Kyler Gordon (Washington cornerback)
Kyler Gordon would have been the best cover guy on most college football rosters. He just happened to wind up with Trent McDuffie as a teammate. Still, he’s a solid selection at 51 and someone that could wind up complementing Darius Slay for the Philadelphia Eagles by the time we reach week one of the 2022 NFL regular season.
