Eagles 2022 NFL 7-round mock drafts decided by a computer simulation
With a single third-round selection now, the Eagles make the 83rd selection count.
Philly’s earlier trade with Pittsburgh swapped one of their third-rounders for the additional second-round choice, but if things work out as discussed, no one should complain. There are times when chances of landing a difference-maker decrease as the third round begins, but the Birds make good use of the resources that they have here, adding a nice mix of talent and value with the selection of Phidarian Mathis of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
This six-foot-four, 310-pound run-stopper made waves at the collegiate level. The question is this. Can he create those same types of headaches as a pass rusher? If thrown into a rotation with Fletcher Cox, Javon Hargrave, and Milton Williams, something tells us that he will be.
Simulation 2: Nick Cross (Maryland safety)
Nick Cross will be a stud for the NFL team that decides to invest in him. If that team is Philadelphia, he’ll be a day-one starter at safety. You can write that down.
Simulation 3: Isaiah Likely (Coastal Carolina tight end)
Isaiah Likely and Dallas Goedert together on the same team sounds like one heck of a plan and a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses and their coordinators. Adding Likely in Round 3 gives Philly a one-two punch at tight end that would strike fear into the hearts of anyone that has the Eagles on the schedule.
