The Eagles are going to ignore a linebacker in Round 1 again, aren’t they?

You’ve heard people tell you that they don’t bet against the Alabama Crimson Tide before right? Do you know why they say that? It’s a relatively simple concept actually.

You see, more often than not, Bama wins, so somewhere along the line, your friend probably bet against them, lost (hopefully no money was involved), and realized that the safer play would be to assume they’d win until you actually see them fail.

Again, good luck with that. Those College Football Playoff National Championship Game losses to the Clemson Tigers and the Georgia Bulldogs were the exception to the rule, not something you should bank on with a Nick Saban-coached team.

Here’s your Eagles comp. Don’t assume the Eagles will take a linebacker in Round 1 until you actually see them do it.

It felt like there was a chance that this would be the year, but that was when they still had three first-round draft choices. With there only being two now, it feels like a forgone conclusion that, for the 43rd year in a row, Round 1 of the NFL Draft will come and go with Philly ignoring everyone that plays the linebacker position.

Kiss Nakobe Dean and Devin Lloyd goodbye if you’re fans of theirs and had high hopes of seeing them in an Eagles jersey. It isn’t going to happen folks.
