Three undrafted rookie free agents figure to fall victim to the numbers game.

Many of the same arguments are made about undrafted free agents every year. One of the more unfair is the following: If they’re so good, why didn’t they get drafted? Truthfully, no two stories are the same, but that’s honestly a lazy assessment that can’t be used successfully as a blanket statement for everyone. That brings us to our next tier.

The ‘they’re good, just not good enough to make this team’ tier

11. Jarrid Williams, offensive lineman

Okay, we admit it! Something about Danny Watkins turned us off of guys that will be close to 30 years of age when their rookie contract is at its end. That’s especially true for 25-year-old offensive linemen.

Jarrid Williams graded out as the ACC’s fourth-best tackle, but the Eagles are loaded along the offensive line. With that being said, Jarrid Williams is an obvious choice for the ‘good, just not good enough to earn a job tier’. He does deserve an opportunity somewhere though.

10. Josh Blackwell, cornerback

Something is puzzling about a press corner that doesn’t record a single interception during a four-year college football career. Josh Blackwell may not have been the best cover guy on the Duke Blue Devils roster (take a look at Leonard Johnson when you can), but with his skill set, like Williams, he should be on an NFL roster if things don’t work out in Philly.
