Here’s a trio of young Eagles that should turn heads in training camp.

There’s always excitement when an undrafted rookie proves he can hang, makes the roster, and become a valuable contributor. T.J. Edwards is a great example.

Here’s a bold statement. Remember where you read this. There are several guys in this Eagles UDFA class that could make serious pushes for a roster spot. Add the next three names to that list.

The ‘these guys will turn heads all offseason’ tier

9. Ali Fayad, linebacker

At long last, the Birds made serious investments into upgrading their linebacker corps. Ali Fayad has a huge hill to climb to make Philadelphia’s roster at a position that already features T.J. Edwards, Davion Taylor, Haason Reddick, Shaun Bradley, Nakobe Dean, Kyron Johnson, and Kyzir White among others.

However, after earning MAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2021 following a season in which he notched 12 sacks and 17.5 tackles for a loss (and two forced fumbles), he figures to win the hearts of a few fans. Might this be a candidate for the practice squad?

8. Britain Covey, wide receiver

Here’s another of those old guys. Britain Covey, though talented, will enter the NFL as a 25-year-old rookie. At five-foot-eight and 170 pounds, he’s two inches taller than Boston Scott and almost 30 pounds lighter. Still, with what the Birds currently have as their presumed slot receivers (Greg Ward, Jalen Reagor, Zach Pascal), we can’t tell you this guy can’t make the team, especially with his skill as a returner.
