Why is it that the Titans always seem to have the Eagles’ number?

Tennessee Titans, Week 13 (December 4th)

They don’t see them often. They’re only scheduled to cross paths once every four years, but if you know anything about Philadelphia’s history with the Tennessee Titans, then you’ve been looking at this game every time you pull the Eagles’ schedule up.

The Birds lead the all-time series by a 7-5 margin, taking the first six meetings, but the Titans have won five of the last six head-to-head matchups, and even in down years, Tennessee typically has had Philly’s number. You have to expect some laser focus from the two-tone blue seeing as how, after winning a second consecutive division crown and earning the top seed in the AFC Playoffs, they were eliminated from contention by the team that went on to represent the American Football Conference in the Super Bowl, the Cincinnati Bengals.

Once this one wraps, the Eagles close the regular season with two games versus the New York Giants (Week 14 and Week 18) as well as two road dates versus the Chicago Bears (Week 15) and the Dallas Cowboys (Week 16) and a home game, for the third year in a row, versus the New Orleans Saints.

Watch out for that Saints game as they’ve added Tyrann Mathieu and Jarvis Landry, and they look forward to welcoming Jameis Winston and Michael Thomas back into the fold. That will, no doubt be another of Philly’s toughest battles of the season. Hopefully, they will have developed a bunch of chemistry and momentum by then.
